Brazilian Committee approves the first projects

Four of the ten projects received under the Program for Bilateral Cooperation in Industrial Research and Development between Brazil and Israel were approved by the Brazilian Committee. Now, these four companies will request funding from public banks institutions to foster innovation in both countries. The funding for the four approved projects will be of around US$ 13.8 million.

This first phase evaluated the technical merits of the projects, the feasibility of the proposed Research and Development (R&D), the market potential of the new product, process or service developed, the degree of innovation of the project and the participation of each company in the research.

The companies that had projects approved were:

  • Flight Technologies (Brazil) e NextVision (Israel).
  • Acrux Aerospace Technologies (Brasil) e Optibase Technologies (Israel).
  • AEL Sistema (Brazil) e Elbit Systems (Israel)
  • Maynards Indústria Tática (Brazil) e MYWALL Ballistic Testing & Engineering (Israel)

The projects which were not approved can be improved and submitted again until the final deadline, in November 14. Besides those, it is expected that new projects will be received, considering many demands made to the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) and to MATIMOP, the Israeli Industry Center for R&D. According to the present Call for projects, Brazilian and Israeli companies from the sector of Information Technology and Communication, Defense, Health and Renewable Energy can submit joint R&D projects for the creation of new products, services and processes.
